ClearRead Reports exists because the reading-glasses aisle is one of the worst-explained corners of retail. People are asked to pick a number they do not understand, from a rack of frames they cannot compare, for a condition nobody told them was coming.

Every pair featured here is worn for two weeks in ordinary conditions — newspapers, laptops, phones, evening reading — rather than assessed from a spec sheet. Scores weigh all-day comfort (30%), how cleanly the lens moves between distances (30%), build quality (20%) and value at the price actually charged (20%).

Prices, star ratings and review counts for Amazon products are read directly from the live product pages and reproduced as found, with the date of the check shown next to the figure. Where a seller does not publish an original price, we do not invent one, and we never calculate a discount backwards from a number we made up.
